What’s in each kit?
The Universal Magnetic Kit ($24.99) is the flagship: a magnetic dock with 3M VHB pre-applied, plus all three grip sizes (Small, Medium, Large) in the box. The Contoured Magnetic Kit ($24.99) swaps those for one curved grip that cradles the palm, with PTFE glides built into the underside. Every grip in both kits rides on the mousepad on PTFE skate glides (the same slick material as mouse feet). The Spare Dock ($9.99) is an extra dock so one set of grips can move between two mice.
What will I pay in total?
Kits are US$24.99 each and the Spare Dock is US$9.99, plus any sales tax, which checkout works out from your address and shows before you pay anything. Shipping is free to the US and Canada. In Canada, any import taxes or fees are not included in our price and are collected when the parcel arrives. Outside the US and Canada, order from our Etsy shop (etsy.com/shop/ReaperMods), which ships to other countries.
Does the rest touch my mousepad?
Yes, on purpose. Every grip in both kits has PTFE skate glides underneath (the same slick material as mouse feet) that ride on the mousepad, so your pinky rests on something supported and the grip slides with the mouse instead of dragging.
Which kit should I get?
The Universal Kit, for almost everyone. Its three flat grips (Small, Medium, Large) let you find the size that suits your hand, on gaming and office mice alike, including the MX Master, and it is the pick for gifts. The Contoured Kit is one larger curved grip that cradles the whole outer hand, for anyone who would rather have one fixed curve than three sizes. Same price, same dock, and both glide on the pad.
Will the extra weight throw off my aim?
The grips weigh 3 g (Small), 5 g (Medium) and 6 g (Large), about one or two US pennies. We have not weighed the dock yet. Whether you notice it is personal: try it for a few sessions, and if it bugs you, send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.
Does it work on office mice?
Yes. Both kits mount to office mice with a flat right side, like the Logitech MX Master, and the Universal Kit is the one we suggest (it is the kit MX Master owners have used). A vertical mouse, like the MX Vertical, is not tested yet: email a photo of its right side to [email protected] before you buy.
Does it fit my mouse?
The dock, the thin magnetic base that sticks to your mouse, fits most mice with a flat right side. The compatibility page marks every model we list as Tested: it fits, A customer says it fits, or Should fit, not yet tested. Not sure about yours? Email [email protected] and a person will tell you within 1–2 days.
Will it work if I am left-handed?
Not on a left-handed mouse. The dock and grips are built for right-hand use, where the ring and pinky fingers ride the right side, and a left-handed mouse mirrors that. An ambidextrous mouse held in the left hand is not tested yet, so email [email protected] before you buy one for that.
How do I know if a mouse is flat on the right side?
Look at the side your pinky sits on. If it has about two inches of smooth shell with no buttons on it, the dock fits. Most mice are like that; the exceptions have side buttons on the right or a big sculpted wing there. Not sure? Email a photo of that side to [email protected] and a person will tell you.
Will it damage my mouse?
The dock sticks on with 3M VHB, the same adhesive used on interior car trim. It holds hard in daily use and comes off hard plastic clean: warm it for a few seconds with a hair dryer, then peel slowly. No residue, no marks, no cracked shell. The one finish we have not peeled it off yet is the soft-touch coating on the MX Master, so on that mouse we do not promise a spotless peel until we have.
What if I just don’t like it?
Send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, no questions asked, even if the dock has been stuck on and used. A gift opened on the day still has the full window. Email [email protected] for a return label.
How do I install it?
Wipe the side of your mouse clean, peel off the tape backing, and press the dock on for 30 seconds. That is the whole install: no screws, no tools. Wait a few hours before heavy use, so the tape grips fully.
Can I use one set of grips on two mice?
Yes, that is what the Spare Magnetic Dock (US$9.99) is for. Stick a second dock on your other mouse and the same grips snap straight over to it. The dock is the part that stays on the mouse; the grips are the part that travels.
Are themed grips available?
Not yet. Themed grips are in development, and a vote on the home page (pinkyrest.com/#vote) picks which design we print first. Today the lineup is the Universal Magnetic Kit, the Contoured Magnetic Kit, the G502 Hero Pinky Rest (made only for the Logitech G502 Hero) and the Spare Magnetic Dock.
Can I order more than 5, or get an invoice for my company?
Yes. Checkout takes up to 5 of each item. For more, or for an invoice or a PO number, use the bulk order form: pick your quantities, send it, and a person replies with the total, how to pay and your date. Big orders take time to make: up to 20 items has no extra prep time, 21 to 49 takes about 2 to 3 weeks, 50 to 100 about 30 to 40 days, and 101 to 200 about 2 months; over 200, ask us and we give you a date. Shipping is free to the US and Canada, the same as every order.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping is free on every order to the US and Canada: no minimum, no flat fee. Orders leave the shop within 1–2 business days, then spend 2–5 business days in the mail via USPS Ground Advantage in the US. To Canada it takes longer, and your tracking shows the estimate once it ships. Outside the US and Canada, order from our Etsy shop (etsy.com/shop/ReaperMods), which ships to other countries.
In the US, order today and it usually arrives in about a week.
Where’s my order?
You’ll get a tracking number by email as soon as your label is created, so check that inbox (and spam) first. Or sign in on the account page with the email you ordered with to see its status and tracking, no order number needed. Still stuck? Email [email protected].
Do I need to sign in?
Checkout never requires an account. Signing in with Connections just pulls up your order history and tracking on the account page, using the same login across Reaper Mods sites.
What if a part breaks?
Email a photo and your order number to [email protected]. We stand behind everything we ship: see the full lifetime replacement policy on the shipping page.
Where is it made?
Designed, printed, and hand-finished in the USA. Every kit that ships has been through hands in that shop, not a faceless factory line.
Do you take customer feedback seriously?
Yes. Every message gets read by the person who designs these mounts, and the lineup keeps evolving because of it. If something’s off, tell us; it goes straight into the next revision.
What are the glides made of?
The same slick, non-stick plastic mouse feet are made of: PTFE, better known as Teflon. Every grip in both kits has these skate glides underneath, so the rest slides on your mousepad with the mouse instead of dragging.
I am buying a gift and do not know their mouse. Which one?
The Universal Kit. Its dock and three grip sizes fit most flat-sided mice, and it can be returned within 30 days of delivery if it does not suit.
Why does Sign in take me to Connections?
Reaper Mods uses Connections, a third-party account platform, for sign-in and checkout. It keeps your orders and tracking in one place and means we never hold your password. You sign in or make an account on its page, then come straight back here. You never need an account to buy.
Why does checkout open checkout.connections.icu?
Connections is the store platform Reaper Mods sells through. It runs our checkout the way Shopify runs checkout for other shops, which is why its address shows while you pay. You pay through Stripe, the same card processor thousands of online shops use, so your card never touches our servers. The payment page is run by our store platform and says Reaper Mods at the top.
